USB Flash Card Reader problem !
I've brought a USB 2.0 compact flash reader. As you plugged-in the reader, it gets recognized by hotplug utility and is registered as a scsi device. I've also written a script which will create a mount point and mount the device. It works fine. This script will be invoked by usb.agent file thru hotplug utility.

Programming the drum card to assist this was fun, too. The boss would walk into the room where I was working, listen at my noise level, and walk out laughing his head off. I had daydreams of running two keypunches at a time, one with my left and one with my right, but could never figure out how to do it.

PCI USB card for PowerMac and OS 8.6: how useful?
If it doesn't show in *USBDevices, it means the underlying USB stack can't talk to it. It hasn't even noticed it so it has no device to hand over to MassFS - you can fiddle all you like with the OtherDevs file but it won't help. I'm afraid it's not going to work unless the stack can be persuaded to see it - maybe

I have tried this briefly on a 98SE machine with a couple of flash disks. It works, though not automatically the way WinME would. It still presents you with a screen where you have to specify a driver location, but if you uncheck all the location boxes and let Windows search, it finds and installs USBSTOR.
